Duarte Pinto da Mata
Duarte Pinto da Mata is a singer-songwriter from the island of Madeira whose performances are marked by intimacy and sincerity. Blending the sophistication of jazz with the sensitivity of traditional pop, he has built an artistic identity rooted in authenticity and storytelling. Trained in Jazz at the Hot Clube de Portugal, Duarte divides his work between solo performance and original songwriting, exploring music through two distinct creative worlds.
In Portuguese, he brings to life Vidicoisas, a project centred on family dynamics, heartbreak, and the challenges of everyday life, approaching the "things of life" with warmth, optimism, and a light-hearted musical language.In English, he develops The Book of Tales, a more theatrical song cycle that transforms real-life experiences into imaginative, welcoming narratives filled with fantasy.
His original music has already been presented at renowned Lisbon venues such as Cossoul and Má Língua, as well as at the Madeira Book Fair, and on Portuguese television. His single O Que Seria de Nós has also received airplay on radio stations including JM FM and Antena 3. Duarte Pinto da Mata will present, his debut collection of original songs.
